Purpose : Since the reinforcement of the financial consumer protection system will also contribute to financial and economic stability, it is necessary to strengthen the financial consumer protection system from a longer-term perspective. The purpose of this study is to present problems and improvement measures for the overall financial consumer protection system. Research design, data, methodology : Based on previous studies, a literature study was conducted on the financial consumer protection system. Results : The preliminary financial consumer protection system and the post financial consumer protection system were introduced. Among them, the problems of the system, which is the most important issue of financial consumer protection, were investigated and concrete improvement measures were suggested. Conclusions : The Financial Consumer Protection Act requires revisions such as the punitive damage compensation system, the conversion of the burden of proof, and the introduction of the class action system. An efficient management plan that can improve the effectiveness and reliability of financial education contents must be prepared. It is necessary to consider ways to improve the effectiveness of the dispute mediation system, such as enhancing the efficiency of civil service and introducing a single-sided binding force.
